This was at a charity event hosted by Travis LeBlanc of Alpine Custom Knives. He was raising money for Redeemed Steel and their mission work.
Our 1st Custom Hand Made Mosaic Damascus Knife with a 7 1/4" cutting edge. Made from 1084/15N20/80CRV2 high carbon steel. Handle material is Spalted Cheesewood Burl, Honduran Rosewood Burl, Blackwood with Blackwood liners making this knife very special.
I was born in Jersey City, NJ, spent a few years in Newark, NJ and now live in Rockaway, NJ
I'm married and have been blessed with four children, three still residing in NJ, while one followed a career path to North Carolina and I have 2 beautiful granddaughters.
I served as an officer for over 25 years and retired in 2018. I've also had my Real Estate license since 2000.
In 2015 and 2016 I took a few Blacksmith lessons with a smith in PA and one in NJ. I enjoyed forging so much, I purchased a forge and anvil. With having limited time, I'd forge some hooks and bottle openers from time to time. In 2019 I wanted to try and make a knife. Over the course of a few months, I made a couple of little neck knives through stock removal. A few months later I made a little EDC. I later raffled that knife off to raise money for the Police Unity Tour. I have slowly added more equipment to my shop to make my process and products better. April 2022 I went on a 3 week forge trip visiting smiths that I knew. My first visit was with a long time friend that taught me to make my first hand forged knife. I continued my trip through 6 different states. I ended my trip in North Carolina, where I learned to forge my first Bowie knife. During those 3 weeks I learned so much from each smith I met. I went to Blade Show Atlanta in 2023 and purchased a 25 ton Coal Ironworks press. I picked it up about 2 weeks later. First thing I did when I got it home, was make 2 94 plus layers of Damascus and simultaneously my first Mosaic Damascus billet. As I continue this journey I work to make every item better then the last, share my experiences and have fun.
